U.A.E ADNOC MERAM Gas-Processing Project

The ADNOC MERAM initiative represents a strategic $3.6 billion gas-processing program to boost ethane recovery by 35–40% from existing Habshan facilities and transport it via a 120 km NGL pipeline to Ruwais Industrial Complex.

This project plays a pivotal role in supporting petrochemical expansion—such as Borouge 4—and driving UAE economic diversification through ADNOC’s In-Country Value program, which channels over 70% of contract spending back into the local economy. Technical Challenges & CUMIC's Integrated Delivery

This project posed tough technical, logistical, and coordination challenges, and CUMIC delivered on all fronts as a turnkey partner for technically complex, time-sensitive projects:

· Ultra-thick plates (≥ 125 mm): The project required ultra-thick HRP to be precision-formed into sphere petals, a task that no service center in the Middle East could execute due to the extreme plate thickness and specialized forming requirements. After conducting extensive research on qualified mills in China, stakeholders ultimately chose CUMIC as their trusted sourcing partner.

· Cross-border coordination: Acting as the communication bridge between Chinese mills and UAE stakeholders, CUMIC ensured real-time updates, transparent collaboration, and smooth project execution.
